ME/CFS & Long COVID
You might be reading this from bed. That’s fine – this page was written for exactly where you are right now.
ME/CFS and Long COVID are multi-system illnesses. They don’t affect just one thing – they affect your energy production, your nervous system, your immune response, your gut, your hormones, your sleep, and your ability to think clearly. Often many of these at once, in a pattern that’s unique to you. That’s why a standard doctor’s appointment, a normal blood panel, and a referral that goes nowhere – or a Long COVID clinic that’s already been shut again – leaves so many people with no clear path forward and no one in their corner.
Functional medicine has long recognised what conventional medicine is only now beginning to acknowledge: that these conditions are real, complex, and rooted in identifiable biological dysfunction, requiring to treat the body as an interconnected system rather than chasing symptoms in isolation.
That’s the framework I work from. I’m Tanja, a Healthspan Coach, and I’ve recovered from ME/CFS, Long COVID and fibromyalgia myself. Knowing what it’s like to be stuck in the push/crash cycle – to have good days that cost you three bad ones, to feel like your body has become unpredictable – means you won’t spend our sessions explaining yourself from the beginning.
Recovery looks different for everyone – but the direction of travel is always forward. You find your way back to things you thought were gone for good. Activities. Engagement. A version of yourself you recognise.
I’m very grateful that I started health coaching. I’m suffering from Long Covid, and Tanja really helps me to understand how to handle it and how to pace myself to get better. I have been getting better, slowly and surely. Tanja’s full of wonderful information, I highly recommend working with her.
1:1 Coaching – 4-Session Support Package
From £550
Four sessions build real momentum. We map your symptoms, identify the key areas to address, and put small personalised actions in place between sessions. Includes WhatsApp support for quick questions between sessions. Adapts as your body responds. You finish the four sessions with a clearer picture of what’s driving your symptoms and at least one area where things have genuinely shifted.
1:1 Coaching – 8-Session Support Package
From £1100
Sustained support over a longer period – for those who want to go deeper, track progress over time, and have steady guidance as things shift. Includes WhatsApp support for quick questions between sessions. Over eight sessions, patterns emerge that a shorter programme can’t reach.
All sessions are online. All packages are paced to your needs, not a fixed timeline.
I wish I had a health coach much earlier! Tanja is so, so good at explaining everything – she’s been through it herself.
Supporting Carers and Parents
If your loved one is too unwell to engage in coaching directly, the same packages are available to support you – in caring for them and in looking after yourself through this time.
What working together looks like
Your symptoms are the map. We use them to understand which systems are most under stress and where to start. It might be nervous system regulation and pacing, often it is. It might be sleep, gut function, mitochondrial support, managing inflammation, and certainly working with post-exertional malaise in mind without triggering a crash.
Sessions are 60 minutes – which for many people at this stage is genuinely high-demand. I’m aware of that. If you need to join from bed or take things slowly within a session, that’s not an exception – it’s just how we work. If 60 minutes isn’t feasible yet, we start shorter and build from there.
Between sessions, there are small personalised actions, things chosen specifically for where you are right now, calibrated to what you can actually manage. That’s where real progress happens. We review them together, adjust as needed, and never push beyond what makes sense for your body at that moment.
Your body is our guide throughout this process.
It was very helpful getting advice from someone who’s recovered from Long COVID. It gives hope to those of us still working on healing ourselves.
Before you progress
I've tried things before and nothing has helped. Why would this be different?
Most approaches treat ME/CFS and Long COVID as if there’s a single answer. There isn’t – which is exactly why generic protocols so often fail. Your symptom picture across multiple pathways is specific to you. The work we do together starts with understanding that picture, not overlaying a template onto it.
Shouldn't I be seeing a doctor instead?
Coaching works alongside medical care, not instead of it. If you’re working with a specialist, I complement that. If you’re not getting answers from doctors, I can help you understand your body better and use that knowledge to advocate more clearly for yourself.
Do you work with clients outside the UK?
Yes – all sessions are virtual and I work with clients globally, in English and in German. I can also offer for you to speak Italian or French if your passive English is better than your active English and you’re happy for me to coach in English.
I'm not sure I have the energy for coaching sessions.
That’s exactly why the sessions are structured the way they are. Sixty minutes is the standard – but if that’s not where you are yet, we start shorter and build from there. You can join from bed. You can go slowly. The small personalised actions between sessions are chosen for your current capacity, not some idealised version of it.
I'm severely affected – is this still relevant to me?
Yes. If you’re well enough to have a conversation, even from bed, we can work together. Sessions can start as short as 30 minutes and build as you’re ready. I take my lead entirely from you.
Would you prefer an initial consultation?
45-minutes · Online · £50
You don’t need to have it all figured out. Would you prefer an initial consultation before committing to several coaching sessions?
We’ll look at what’s driving your symptoms and identify one concrete first step, calibrated to where you actually are right now. You’ll receive a written summary within 48 hours — what I observed, and your first action point – so you leave with something you can actually use.
Before we speak, you’ll complete an intake form – tick-boxes and brief notes, nothing that will cost you energy you don’t have. I’ll review it in full, so we’re not using our time together covering ground you’ve already covered on paper.
Not ready for coaching yet – or it is out of reach right now?
Many people with ME/CFS and Long COVID are managing on very little – including financially. If coaching isn’t possible for you at the moment, you’re still welcome here. I offer a free one-off 30-minute virtual tea for anyone who needs a conversation, some direction, or simply to feel less alone with this. No agenda, no pitch.
I work independently with ME/CFS and Long COVID clients as well as in collaboration with the Apheresiscenter in Cyprus,a multidisciplinary clinic specialising in the treatment of ME/CFS and Long COVID – supporting clients before, during, and after treatment.
